About Damian Cieslak
Damian is a Registered Psychotherapist with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario. Damian completed his BA (Honors Specialization – Psychology) from King’s University College in London, Ontario, and received his M.Ed. – Counselling Psychology from the University of Lethbridge in Lethbridge, Alberta.
Damian supports youth, adolescents and adults in navigating a broad range of challenges, including those related to life transitions, anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, emotional and behavioural dysregulation, stress, and neurodivergence. He takes a warm, integrative approach, drawing on evidence-based methods such as psychoeducation, motivational interviewing, positive psychology, cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), and dialectical behaviour therapy (DBT) to empower individuals to strengthen self-understanding, build resilience, and develop practical, lasting coping strategies for everyday life.
Damian has previously worked with the Royal Ottawa and the University of Ottawa’s Department of Psychiatry, supporting program operations, as well as with the Canadian Mental Health Association – Calgary Region, where he participated in the development and facilitation of recovery-oriented mental health curriculum for youth and adults. He was approved as a Registered Psychotherapist with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario in 2023.
In his spare time, Damian enjoys live music and concerts, travelling, and spending time with family watching (probably too much) television!
